is characterized by its medium to high hardness.

Location
The Azul Valverde limestone is explored around the area of Valverde – Alcanede, which is located in the Serra D´Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, region of Santarém. This area is located in the centre of Portugal, about 100 kilometres north of Lisbon.
Valverde lies at the heart of the area that is considered as the main ornamental limestone quarrying centre in Portugal and neighbours the exploring area of another famous limestone: the Moca Cream.
